Marbella Town Hall

Promoting communication between residents and our Town Hall

There are 147 nationalities registered on the Marbella Town Census.

Paying for the vital services we need to cover health centres, ambulances, police, firemen, rubbish collection, schools etc., comes from central Government per capita  - this means we all need to register on the Town Padron if we live here, our city can't cope if we don't.

Also please contact the Town Hall for all your concerns - the Foreign Residents Department, headed up by Councillor Remedios Bocanegra, is there just to help us.

RTV Marbella is the official Town Hall radio and television station.

Nicole King is responsible for serving as a link between the local community and the large number of visitors, tourists and foreign residents that we can find in the municipality. In fact, this is a space designed for them. With the English language as a vehicle of union, Nicole takes you behind the scenes to show you how we really live in Marbella, with very useful information and leisure plans.

With reports and interviews, “Marbella Now” is the reference magazine in English throughout the Costa del Sol and a way of connecting easily with others and of sharing your projects with our International community..

A chat line if you're feeling lonely

Rotary International, together with members of the Rotary Club of Benahavis and Rotary Club of San Pedro have launched a chatline for the elderly in the area.

Graciela Waen explained the idea behind the project: “Many people are alone here, especially in the Marbella area. Some people are lonely, some people feel very sad. So, we as Rotarians decided that we needed to help those that are alone in their homes that have nobody to talk with.”

She then explained that those in need can have calls “in English, Spanish and even French. If they need information on where to call, what to do or how to deal with something. We can help, we can listen.”

Over 50 and need help?

The British Consulate has launched a website to compile services to cater to those who are over 50 and living in Spain.  This is a point of reference for all nationalities that speak English.

If we share this page with everyone and everyone who offers services keep it up-dated with their details, it will make it so much easier for everyone to find the assistance they need.

This page helps find organisations that offer support by the type of help required and in the area where you live.
(Detailed coverage: Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Sth. Valencia, Almeria, Balearics, Canaries, Catalan coast, Murcia/Costa Calida.)

Visit the web and take a look.

If you offer a service that is missing from the website please contact them to keep the website as complete and updated as possible. Thank you.

Linea Directa has been the lead sponsor for our United Nationalities of Marbella summits for the past 5 years, since we first contacted them to ask if they could help our community's issues with drinking and driving, police controls etc.

It was a big surprise for Nicole King, the UNMS founder, to realise they were so eager to listen and help adapt their policies to help us overcome these worries.

We were also allocated a special discount code C007701 as well as a free taxi up to 4 times a month if you've been drinking. This is great but only offered because of the dangers and expense caused by accidents!!!

This initiative is for EVERYONE (you don't have to be a Linea Directa policy holder, they are just sponsoring the free disposable breathalyser).

This initiative exists to help promote road traffic safety with a positive twist, by rewarding the designated driver.

Click the image to take you to the website and thank you for participating.

Rather than have us drink and drive Linea Directa's policy covers up to FOUR TAXIS A MONTH, with tow truck for your car or bike if you like, INCLUDED in the policy if we've had too much to drink.

So no need to worry about going back the next day or anything, everything in favour of helping us to make the right decisions when it's time to get the bike or car to go home.

We sincerely thank our sponsors:
